Sometimes I wish I had a little more free time to get things done...

Dude, I'll be getting on MIRC from baltimore tomorrow.  I have to make sure my mini can connect, later on.  I have a bunch of sales trainings to give.  On top of the boy, political stuff, famaily stuff, and running a bunch of games.  YAG!

But I want to get some timing stufff done tonight., and make sure you guys have some of your skills done right.

Late night wandering cultists, bearing torches, moving towards the bridge...
The explorers see them coming, and despite the fact there are 12 of them, surprise is worth a few extra men...and since the group is still a few days out of Vexchian, Rampan and Hamish can drop all their spell points...
And I hope that Carmen is un-zombifie to help out...

As I left for Japan, I said I'd like to rejoin when I returned to a timezone where that was reasonable.

I'm leaving Okinawa for Tokyo this Saturday, and then Tokyo for Honolulu the Saturday after that.

I hear you all have changed the date and time, but I am too lazy to look.  (If it's still Wednesdays at 9:00pm, that's a no-go for me, as I'll be in my Wednesday afternoon/evening seminar.)

I can try to be on tonight, so we can facilitate making a character.  I am thinking that you probably won't be ready for this Thursday's game (though those cultists are awefully convenient)...

To the best of my knowledge, 2:30 in the afternoon is a reasonable time in Hawaii.

I will not be available until August 27th, my first Thursday back in Hawaii, but I can make a character in the meantime.  I've done it once before.

Now to get a concept...

Heck of a fight last night.  
We stayed at it until the cultists had fled, were dead, or had quit. [note=lethality] A mark of the system is that in a melee such as this, with 20 participants, death and damage is going to happen.  Guildschool is rough.  Critical hits also increase with more powerful creatures...one NPC, Simon, took 42 hits by a scimitar, protected 10, and took 30...he has 18 hit points...decapitated...[/note]

The explorers totally surprised the cultists, and Hamish's use of Water Whip really beat the leader down, right off the bat.  A critical success on the Spell Success roll didn't hurt.

But things got rough, as they often will, especially with enemy spell casters.  The Golf-masked cultleader escaped, but the group did take down some tougher fighters and a bunch of mooks...

I should also mention that there were a few nice loittle level breaks, such as Stormhammer in Basic Detect, and Hamish in Air Spells.
