Here are two of the 65 photos I am currently scanning/printing/archiving for a client who owns them. These were taken by the 457th Bombardment Group of the US Army Air Corps/US Air Force during WW2. The first photo is of Normandy Beach taken on June 2, 1944 - just four days before D-Day. The second photo is taken over Plaven Bridge (France, I believe) also in 1944.

These photos were used in bombing raids and softening before ground operations approximately at a height of 24,500 feet - both B/W photos of course. These were classified as Top Secret during the war.

The client has 80 more photos he needs work done with as well. I feel priviledged at the chance of working with them - especially being a cartographer as I am.

Awesome cool stuff!

The client who is a WW2 afficionado, also buys War photos when he can, he collects them, as well as sells them on EBay. This job involved scanning all the photos, making prints of each, and archiving to CD. This particular batch of photos are being shipped to Germany. Someone on EBay purchased them as a gift for their father.

However, the client is considering offering a CD collection of these type photos to various communities.

The job and what the client needs aren't all that exciting, but the content is what I thought was cool.
