If this was a tournament, no, he wouldn't have a choice. But since these are just semi-random, he's looking for a non-magic using opponent.

I'll take that challenge. What is the defenition of mage? Arcane? any primary spell caster? Anyone with any spellcasting abbility? What about psionic characters?

Either way, i have several lvl 16's of all types, but depending on you defenition, i may need an hour or two to get one finished.

What are we doing for the pre-battle? "Just do whatever you need", "no time at all" or something with more rules to it?

No spellcasting at all. He came from a Rome-esque world. The masters of the empire were mages and clerics, while the slaves were forbidden from practicing magic of any kind. He would consider Psionics the same thing as magic, despite it's differences. So, basically, no spells, spell-like abilities, and the like. He doesn't use magical items either, but that's not something he requests of his opponents. He doesn't care for them, of course, but his team is trying to acquaint him with magical equipment and weaponry.

He doesn't really need much in the way of pre-combat time. A round or two at most, perhaps.

Another thing, he fights to the death.

Perhaps you should put in a request for the arena to be filled with an antimagic field.I'm sure if you slipped the arena mages a 100 gps or so, they would help you out. Of course that would mean that you would have to ask a favor from a MAGE!!!. MUUUAAAAHAHAHAHAHA!! :morons:

For Darkxath's next match how about:

You are able to have 2 spells cast on you, by yourself or paying an arena mage just before entering the arena, and get [dice]1d5[/dice] rounds for pre-combat.

He doesn't hate mages, to the contrary he respects them very much, almost to the point of fear. He refuses to fight them because that's the way he was raised. He doesn't have a grudge against his former masters because that's all he knew, he never knew he should be free.

So, he wouldn't mind asking a mage for a favor, though he probably wouldn't, he'd think it was rude of him. He'd never cheat, though.

I like the idea of the Arena being an Antimagic zone, but it's up to The Poster Formerly Known as Supadupaman.

Alright, i need a little time to rework my lvl 16. I just realized one of the class features key to his build doesn't actually work how i thought.

Aslo, a question for anyone with CW.
The 2nd level Kensai feature, Power surge: can you use it multiple times and have it stack? It is an unnamed bonus, but that sees way to good tto be able to do several times. A character could easily make the first 3 or 4 concentration checks, providing an unnamed +32 to strength, possibly more if they get lucky. I think multiple uses of a single abbility don't stack unless specifically stated that they do, but i'm not sure.

It can only be used once per round. I think that should read half his kensai class level so a 2nd level Kensai would only have it for 1 round. I don't see why it wouldn't stack the only concern would be the duration. The down fall of using this ability is that you have to waste a move action each round.
