Old, evil, twisted, damaged, and afflicted.  Orbis non sufficit.Thread Murderer Extraordinaire, and supposedly pragmatic...\"That is my interpretation. That the same rules designed to reduce the role of the GM and to empower the player also destroyed the autonomy to create a consistent setting. And more importantly, these rules reduce the Roleplaying component of what is supposed to be a \'Fantasy Roleplaying game\' to something else\"-Vreeg

Also, my friend I mentioned before, Aidan, should be stopping by to watch the game, if that's cool.

session 88 in the books, group has 2 new players coming on board, and has done some smart scouting, and is planning an assault on the gnolls up the steps...

Well, I don't know.
As long as the group intelligently plans this out, they might do really well.

Part of the plan involves drawing fire. Unless it's a really high-HP sort of game, that rarely goes well.

And now that we're about to do this, I don't suppose it would be a good time to mention that there's a small chance I may miss some or all of next week? We have busy plans for the night, which I have included SIG as part of, but how often do things go perfectly according to plan?

Well he'll, as tell is the main meat shield, though moss and maybe one of the new characters will be able
To help soon....you're a healer, you'll be in the back anyways...hope you can make it.  Maybe wurnick casts prep for combat...

My idea was never to have someone draw fire.

It was to distract and surprise the gnolls, so that hopefully only one or two of them get off a round of crossbow bolts.

That sounds like the same thing.

That's kind of cool.

It is a large cavern. Very poor lighting, though gnolls have good darksight (45'), their area is more lit. There are very uneven, pitted walls on the north and south. There is a huge pile of rubble in the middle of the cavern, up to 6' high in the center.the area on the stairs is about a 5' rise above the floor, with 10' wide staircase. There are also 4 pillars on the top of the lip (fluted) that the gnolls are behind, but that also obscure their view.

It was made clear to me to remember that not many of the people who have been down here a few times were actually playing.  So I figured I'd repost the exact circumstances of the cavern area.  I make a gig deal about players thinking tactically in an immersed fashion; this depends heavily on how much they really know about the area.

Gotta tell you, new players are rocking the house.
thalion's uber Mage will need protecting, but has a lot of potential.
Sigmund's warrior bard looks fearsome as well.

They may not be able to be added right in, but they will help the crew.   Sig needs fighters.  And sneaks.

That mage should be able to put on the hurt. Having a bard around should be nice, too, since isobot hates allowing us to make our rolls on our own.
