[ic]As those remaining behind try to find some dray land to set up camp, the four groups head off under the shady boughs of the swamp trees. It is not long before the other groups are all out of sight and the swamp and your companions are all you can see. Most of the marsh is shallow - about ankle or knee deep with a few deeper patches - but there are many dryer paths of semi-solid ground that can be traversed. Aside from the insects buzzing lazily around you and the sounds of your boots, all is quiet and peaceful.[/ic]
[ic=@Kevkas and Ankh]As you walk, the silence is broken often by Kaebo trying to start a conversation on any number of topics, whereas Jorik walks in silence. You notice that Jorik always seems to stand at his same height even when he walks into seemingly deep portions of the marsh.[/ic]  
[ic=@Dain and Almax]Both Kolchak and Moran walk in silence, but their walking couldn't be more different. While Kolchak steps gracefully between the dry mounds, Moran frequently slips and stumbles as he hits deeper areas or slides off the edge of a bit of dry land. [/ic]

[ic=Daín Ironhammer]Daín is constantly helping Moran up when he stumbles, and trying not to slip too much himself.  Walking in silence, he tries to keep on his guard.[/ic]

[ic=Almax]So when did your people start disappearing? And why does your people think that the lizard folk have anything to do with it. [/ic]

[ic=@Dain and Almax]Kolchak lets out a derisive laugh. "Ha! My people are far from here. If you refer the townsfolk, well there's always been dissapearances. It just happens. There have been problems with the lizards in the past though." He hold out an arm and points to a circle or scar tissue on it. "I've fought them myself in the past. Big one took a chunk out of me. I'm here for the money. And the fight."
At this Moran speaks up. "Lots of people started to go missing a few weeks ago. It's always the poorer people, so the cloaks never really care about it. My sister was taken too, a few days ago. I need to get her back." He stops talking, choked up for a moment, then seems to think of something and continues. "A bunch of nobles have gone missing too, though, and that's got a lot of them worried. That's the only reason there's any kinda of reward out."[/ic]
 [ooc]Hey, golem you wanna gimme a spot and listen when you got a moment. and voran, was that roll spot or listen?[/ooc]

[ic=@Kevkas and Ankh]After a while, Kaebo seems to give up on starting up a conversation and starts whistling quietly to himself. He continues for a short while, then you notice that Jorik has started to whistle a harmony to it. Neither acknowledges each others whistling directly, but they obviously are both very familiar with it.[/ic]  
[ic=@Dain and Almax]All of a sudden, Kolchak stops in his tracks and holds up a hand. "Quiet, i heard something. Up ahead there," he says and points to a collection of large bushes a short ways ahead of you and to the left.
@Dain: you as well hear something and is sounds as if there is a group of people talking in some language you can't make out up ahead.
@Almax: You hear nothing, but through the bushes he points to you can make out a small group of roughly man-sized creatures. They look to be crouched down behind the bushes and every now and then you'll notice one of them move a bit, but for the most part they are staying still. [/ic]

[ic=Almax]Almax whispers to the rest of his group, There is a group of creatures waiting on the other side of the bush. They seem to be watching us.[/ic]

[ooc]Sorry about asking for another set of spot/listen rolls. That was just a copy/paste error and the the second set of rolls s not needed.[/ooc]

[ic Kevkas] "Shhh...if there are lizards near by they might hear you guys."Kevkas whispers softly to Jorik and Kaebo. [/ic]

[ic=Almax]We know they are there. If they show us not hostility, and we show none to them we maybe able to resolve this peacefully [/ic]

[ic=@Kevkas and Ankh]They both stop whistling a that comment, and Kaebo has a dissapointed look on his face. Jorik siddles over to Kevkas a quietly tells him, "It's a tune from his homeland. It helps to keep him calm whenever he get nervous. Such as now. And right now, we need him to be sharp."
Kaebo seems to have somehow heard this even from where he is standing and speaks up. "It's alright Jorik. Thank you for that, but I'll be all right." [/ic]
