Shadow's Rising PBP (IC thread)

[ic]Your group makes the short walk to the city gates and passes through more or less without incedent. The Redcloaks on gate duty give you some odd looks, but seeing as you are all leaving rather than trying to enter the city, they allow you to pass. Certain member of the other groups are speaking amongst each other and moving back and forth between the groups. Most of them seem to know each other, bu there are a few loitering near the edges. [/ic]
 [ic=@Ankh]As you walk with the halflings group noone says much to you. Then the gnome walks over.  "There's something looking familiar about you. Were you made as part of that Project Rebirth thing? Cause my cousin's wife worked on that and somethin about yer design's looking familiar. Oh, my name's Kaebo by the way," he says, extending his hand. You get a better look at the gauntlet on his arm. It seems to consist mostly of a brace running along his forearm and is covered in small clamps, hooks and pins.[/ic]
 [ic=@Kevkas, Almax and Dain]You notice the man in the red robes having a brief whispered conversation with Jorik and the man known as Ky, involving many glances over at the three of you. Then he walks over with a broad grin on his facew and adresses you.  "Hello my friends. Jorik has told me you all seem to have cool heads on your shoulders. This is very refreshing considering the company we have up there," he says gesturing at the groups ahead.  They're mostly idiots, but there's some bad one in that crowd. I'd be careful. Some of them can lead you into trouble it you're not wary. Oh, how rude of me. I am known as Emirkol. Has Jorik already mentioned me?  [/ic]

[ic]Your leave the city heading almost due east along the southern trade road, but you soon leave it as it takes a sharp turn to the south. Walking along a smaller dirt path now, you can see the Saltmarshes up ahead, thought they are still in the distance and past them you can almost catch a glimpse of the Corben's Bay. [/ic]
 [ic=@Ankh]"Hmm, not a talker huh. Well i guess i shouldn't be too surprised, you being a forgeborn and all. Still, i had thought the Aeia module was supposed to increase a unit's social interaction." He muses for a few seconds, then continues his rambling.  "Well, anyways, how  long have you been out travling? You familiar with this area yet, or did you spend most of you time up north more?" [/ic]
 [ic=@Kevkas, Almax and Dain] "Oh, don't fret yourselves over me," he says with a laugh, "I've lived amongst this lot my whole life. I know how to deal with them, and most know not to start trouble with me. I can well take care of myself."  [/ic]

[ooc]It's a fairly sunny day, with a few clouds in the sky. There's a light breeze northerly breeze coming in off the bay.
Also, this is all taking place in early fall, a few weeks before harvestime starts.[/ooc]

 [ooc]Unless there is talk you want to do before then (and if there is, by all means go ahead and it will be chronologically place before this) i'm jumping past the travel time.[/ooc]
 [ic]The first indication you have of swamp is the groud becoming soggy underfoot and swarms of small flies swirling up everywhere. The trees that seem to mark the borders of the swamp are still a ways off, but the marsh doesn't seem to agree with it's boundaries. Most of the group is forging onwards, seeking more solid ground when they can, but many are grumbling and suggesting ehy search for a dryer path.[/ic]

[ic]As you forge onwards, some people begin to talk of how large the marsh is and how notoriously hard the lizardmen are to find and maybe you should plit up to search quicker. At this suggestiion, some seems to agree, but the majority seem much more concrened with safety in numbers than they are with finding the lizards. No concensus seem to be getting reached and your group has nearly reached the edge of the trees.[/ic]

[ic=Daín]If we do split up, it should only be to send a group of advance scouts.  Saftey in numbers.[/ic]

[ic] "I say we set up a campsite here. Then we will split up into five groups. 4 groups of 4 and 1 group of 6. The group of six will stay here and guard the camp. The groups of four will scout the surrounding area. If you are faster,smarter and better scouts than the lizardmen, that is.
