Okay.  we are getting our asses handed to us by a goddamn tavernmaking site. That's bleeding pathetic.

I can hear the tavernmaker laughing at the sites he is beating.  he's not even bothering to laugh at us, since he is still at #7 and we are in free fall, currntly down to #15.

This thread is an admittedly humorous, over the top, daily tirade about me being pissed off about being beaten by a *)&^(&^% tavernmaking site.  I don't even know why I picked that one, except months ago, that site was one that we caught up to and passed, and I noted that worldbuilders should always trump puny tavern makers.

Although "content is king" as one of the major apects of search engine rank, its not the only one. I'm not familiar with this Tavernmaking site, but perhaps they are more agressive about their online marketing.

Actually back-linking from other sites provides a higher standing as far as search engine placement goes. So if you pointed out his site, then you've just provided him with a back-link and thus justifies his higher rankings.

Its really about the wider community and how they perceive the CBG that determines rank.

But dropping from 7 to 15 can happen everyday, yet not really be an issue. If the site was banned from the search engines or dropped from single digit to rank 10,000 then there would be concern.

Although its not the case anymore, I used to be ranked higher than the Dundjinni website for the phrase, "Dundjinni battlemap printing" - and that was when my site was under 3 months old. Though I "marketed" a half dozen keyword phrases to the search engines. Now I have many keyword phrases that point to my site, that I never intended as my "keywords" yet the search engines are determining these to be so.

Curious that that's happening - but I'm happy about it!

Tavernbuilding kitten eaters...still#7.

However, world Building CBG, up one to #14.  Progress, at least.  Keep voting.  It saves kitties and makes your local Overlord happy.
