Dusted off my old maps created by exporting from Fractal Terrains into CC3.  Haven't gotten much else done on it.  I am hoping being a member of The CBG will motivate me to work some more!

Very interesting. Solothra's central sea is certainly a style you don't see often. Though it is a fractal program. However, that is the nice part of those things, you never know what you will get.

I actually did some massaging with FT to create a much larger inland body of water.  I haven't yet decided if it will be fresh or salt.  Could be some awesome saltwater marshes if I went saltwater/brackish.  This would also create some interesting social issues  Maybe the salt content is so high that it cannot support "normal" aquatic life, so the normal fishing villages would have to have some other type of livelihood.  Hmm, new creature that can live in it maybe?  With the size of it you could have an entire race living there.

Wait, your favorite aquatic animal isn't the holy polycarp?

Superfluous Crow

Oceans incapable of sustaining life are always enjoyable (although probably a bit too fancy and pretentious for most worlds).
I have found a coastline that I'm rather content with now, so hopefully i should be able to get a map made soon (of course, that's the same thing i told myself the other 7 times).

You should make a forsaken race of duck-billed, beaver-tailed, egg laying poisonous beast men!

Nerpites or Platypussers?  I can see a mixture of the 2, the race is born from an egg planted in a sacred area of the lake and guarded by some sort of subservient creature.  Once hatched they live the beginning stages of their lives completeley in the water (Nerpa stage.)  As adolescents they learn from the elders that have "evolved" and are taught all the lore of their race.  Once they complete their education they go off on a journey of transformation where they visit another sacred site that changes their physical form, turning them into humanoids and giving them the poisonous "spurs" on their legs, a razor sharp bill and allows them to breathe water and air (Platypus stage.)
Maybe a shamanistic type religon with a semi-militaristic structure (different clans fighting over a common feeding ground?)  Herbivores in initial stages shifting to Omnivores when the change.
Obviously the names of the stages would need to change and I would need to do quite a bit more development work on it, but thanks for the great ideas!

Much thanks to RobA and waldronate at the Cartographer's Guild Rob even put a tutorial on Youtube to show how he converted the two polar maps to a single equirectangular projection (which I've been playing with in G.Projector and GIMP)!

Great map Steel General.  I like the colors, and textures for the mountains, and woodlands.  It is very easy on the eye.
