Who the hell even likes DC?

Um me.  For quite a few years they did storyline better than Marvel.  Marvel was all fight scenes interspersed with single-panel pages (the splashpage is the traditional single-panel page with the credit box and title at the beginning of the issue; there is one splashpage per issue) drawn by hot artists.

When you throw in the Vertigo and Minx lines DC is still better than Marvel.  Marvel's gotten better than they used to be, but I don't think they've produced anything as good as Clubbing or P.L.A.I.N. Janes or Y: the Last Man.

I have never heard of any of those comics. I was judging DC off of what I have read and seen, 90% of which is their normal hero line, not this new stuff you're referring to. Also, I forgot the smiley after my post. :) (I didn't mean to offend except in a jokey way).

I just feel DC's heroes (besides Batman) are all very weak in terms of actual character/personality when compared to Marvel. DC heroes are very one dimensional and too good-too-shoes. Not that that was bad, when I was a kid but, I much prefer more realistic people in my comics. Of course both DC and Marvel fail when compared to many of the popular Manga out there.

Any human emotion should not be banned as 'good/evil'. We feel hate towards somethings and love towards  some other and this is a night to night thing. Are we good then? Are we evil then? Both? Humans do not feel one and only one emotion at any given time, its like a mix where there are time in which some are stronger. We cant not switch from good or evil just like that.

I think that was more in regards to giving in to those feelings (could be wrong though).

Oh and I think that Saruman was totally asking for what happened.

would you rather be able to fly or shoot fire out of your hands (and no you can't use one to get the other)?

Elemental_Elf

Shoot Fire because I'm sacred of heights... And Dick Chaney :P

Would you rather be a Super Hero, a Jedi or a hero from LotR?

Superfluous Crow

Jedi i think, they are cool. And have lightsabers and robes. And more than one "superpower".

Raspberry or strawberry marmalade on pancakes? (no, syrup is not an option here)

Raspberry all day long.  But without the frakkin seeds.

Which Star Trek series (no, the cartoon doesn't count) is your favorite?

For finite types, like human beings, getting the mind around the concept of infinity is tough going.  Apparently, the same is true for cows.

I see it totally the other way. Marvel seems like kid stuff to me. All Marvel I have seen is just too simple  and lame. This could be different now, though. Because that is how I saw it years ago, I haven't read Marvel comics at all in quite some time.

I'm not a big comic fan. I am a big Green Lantern fan.

I've always regarded Deep Space Nine as the best one.  Something about the aftermath of one war and then the next and the grittier city-like setting worked well for me.

Star Wars or Dune?

I have only recently read Dune, and although i think it's sweet i'm still going with Star Wars; it's both more familiar and funnier. Dune is more grim and dark. (at least, that's my take)

Robots or Golems? (yet another version of the fantasy/sci-fi dilemma)

They're both the same thing (and both awesome).

Would you rather know the moment and method of your death, or remain blissfully unaware?

Beetle Borgs because that sounds like an awesome drink! "I'll have a Beetle Borg, stirred and on the rocks, thanks."

Which Gundam series do you like the most?

There was a ghost on that show that looked like Jay Leno.

For me it is a tie between Gundam Wing and 08th MS Team. They are very different in style, story, and intent.

Star Wars or Hitch hiker's Guide to the Galaxy? [Yeah, I went there.]

Both good series but I'd say 8th MS Team is the better of the two. Its shorter and has a more compact, meaningful story that doesn't end (like most Gundam series) with the main characters spouting off the glories of Pacifism!

Star Wars is better than Hitchhiker's Guide, if only because Star Wars inspired me both as a youth and continues to do so.

Half-Orc or Wookie?
