Ok this was just before your last post. I will pull Trabler away from Igbar, make sure their is room for the Tiche Plains their... same with the Brightlands i will open it back up between Hobyt Inn and Hobyton. Do you want me to Fjord up the end of the river in the Bright Lands? Is that the Ambrettus River? anywho worked on the woodlands some more... like i said this was befour your last post but i will work on it more... the more details and the more information you give me the better it will be when it is done, it will just mean you will have to wait a little longer for your Map :)

I need your ok on the settlment locations i have marked.

Honestly Lath, I like the first version better (if my opinion matters at all!).  I know you called it acidic, but to me, it just looked nicely stylized, whereas the second one looks kind of blurry.  Great work all around though, you should definitely post this stuff over at the Cartographers Guild and see if they have some things to say about it.

For finite types, like human beings, getting the mind around the concept of infinity is tough going.  Apparently, the same is true for cows.

I like the "acidic look" too. ;)

My wife likes the rich colours too, i just didnt like the rivers and wanted their colour to flow into the ocean more, i will probably use the water colouring but take the white mask layer (solid white layer and play with the transparency until you like it) off and let the land colours come through. Its at the point where i should take it over to the CartoGuild your right, i am just scared the river police will arrest me! :) Thanks for your comments, of course your opinion matters! I am flattered by yours, Vreeg's and everyones comments.

I just want to make a map that Vreeg can present to his players without going "Ok this is the map, now these hills arent accually there, and the rivers acually flows like this..." something that captures all the hard work Vreeg has put into Celtrcia that he can present with the rest of the world and it can stand up with the rest of the excellent work he has done and not be seen as a "deficient" part of the setting or table presentation.

so here is my last update for a bit, its time to go back to work. just worked on the colouring not the changes mentioned.

I'm continuously impressed by this.  I think at this point, the only issue I would have with the coloring is how abruptly the river changes from light blue to the darker blue in the lakes, and maybe a bit more of a fade could happen there.  Other than that, you've definitely set yourself up here now as someone who will probably be called upon by others for mapmaking!

Whether you like it or not. :P ;)

I like the bright colors more, too. The mountains also work very well for me.

Yea i rushed the Lakes, i dont like them either, i was trying to finish them so i could post the map here befour work and erased with a hard brush! And i dont mind at all doing more maps for others. My wife wants me to "turn this into something" but i dont think i will ever be a "professional" map maker or get anything published so doing maps for the Homebrews here at the CBG is just fine for me. If someone wants to toss me 20 bucks so i can justify to my wife spending 8+ hours mapping an entire high-resolution world map on the computer thats more than i could have ever hoped for. I ENJOY world building and mapping. Doing this Map for Vreeg working off a set map, and following up getting the details is great fun for me. I am used to mapping my world, which i am creating and changing as i go, this is different and i like it.

I think Gamer Printshop is still our main "map guy" the guys got skills.

Yeah, GP is pretty awesome, and Nomadic and Phoenix both do astounding jobs as well, but you're definitely getting up there.  Cheers!

What happened to my post? It got deleted or something.

Anyhow as I said before it looks pretty awesome. You just have some impossible rivers. If this was you, then now you know. If this was Vreeg... then shame on him :P.

Anyhow the impossible ones are circled in red here (if you want to know why they don't work feel free to ask):

Kaptn'Lath

Oh i know their impossible, the lower one i didnt even do until Vreeg confirmed that it was necessary and i added it on a later map. I posted the original Vreeg did long ago that i am working off of. I have altered the rivers quite a bit while trying to leave as many of the rivers as was on the original. Generally lakes have one exit, and rivers don't fork they join. The river in the lower right on of your cut out does this, as do others. Thank you for your keen eye, but i dont think this map will ever pass the river police. Its why i am hesitant to post it on the CartoGuild.

Ok new update, cleaned up what i rushed before work yesterday, and did some "trimming" to the woodlands to get them to match Vreeg's image. How do the tree lines look now Vreeg? and do i have location markers at the right spot? (the white dots)One is normal the other has a touch of white wash to lighten it.

Allright, Nomadic, you obviously want to describe why these are impossible, I'll bite.  There's enough in Celtricia that might not match well with physics. :-/
Both of these you circle have their primary headwater in the Grey March, and the water travels south where they meet in Lake Tarniquade, then travel south down the Wizard's River to Lake Smoexeo~(Blinding White, White omwo~), where 2 rivers discharge in the south of the lake.
The western river is Called the Anvil, and travels down until it splits.  The Northern river is still called the Anvil, and the southern one (the Jurist Flow) is the western one you circled.  The Jurist flow goes south until it meets with the delta of NorthernGryphon river as floes east to west and spills into the Argonia.
