I vote that limetom's new avatar makes everything acceptable one time.

Old, evil, twisted, damaged, and afflicted.  Orbis non sufficit.Thread Murderer Extraordinaire, and supposedly pragmatic...\"That is my interpretation. That the same rules designed to reduce the role of the GM and to empower the player also destroyed the autonomy to create a consistent setting. And more importantly, these rules reduce the Roleplaying component of what is supposed to be a \'Fantasy Roleplaying game\' to something else\"-Vreeg

Just want to say a  few things...

One, I am personally blown away and thankful that somehow this silly little IRC game is now on session 105 coming up.  How cool is it when things meet then kill expectations....

Another is that after reading a few of my own past escroitorial meanderings and the 'classes' thread, I find it hilarious that this IRC game is dawdling in tow of said precepts.  The game is becoming what the rules/system is written to do...Limetom's character has as much experience in basic social as he does in HP.  Now the group has to figure out who wants to keep what spells, and which ones they want to sell...spells are worth big-bucks in Celtricia.

I'd like to say that tomorrow I might be a little late to the party since I get out of work at 9:30, but I will make all haste to be there on time!

OK.  Should not be a problem.  I might be taking a poll about changing the meeting day of the week...I want Nom back...

OK, Spells found in the scrolls and books so far...from 104
Now the group has to work on the hard truth of selling or keeping these spells.  Spells can be worth 5-20 Gold Horn per spell point if selling, but buying teaching scrolls can be 30-50 Gold Horn per sp, if the spells are even available.
(from an ooc standpoint...some of these spells are very cool and would be useful to this group.

Jorm Haddars's book...
Insect Feast...Bee blade...canine soul...   Silent Strike...  Detection of poison

One of the ancient scrolls found under the Temple...the authority spells would rock for this group.  Some of these are rare, as these scrolls are Vicorian in Origin...
rigid lock...  lesser authority... greater authority...  Perservere

The other ancient scroll...
lesser control..locktight...charm of life...  fertility charm..Great Strike

Rampan's Spell Book...(God, I miss Rampan as an NPC)
Immunity to Heat...Flaming Sphere...Minor Fire Blast...Smokepuff...Starlight, Fire...PiggyBlaze ...Least eye...Source Charge, the most popular cobat buff spell in Celtricia...Omnipotent Eye...Flame Blade

So the group all got a ton of spells...and this is alos one of their primary sources of potential wealth. It makes poor economic sense to sell these if casters want them, but the opposite is certainly true.  We need to make sure Valtonian gets a look, as well...

Hmm, turns out I thought today was tuesday up until, well, right now. I literally hopped on IRC to see if I could catch the tail end of SIG... to have the studious Limetom remind me that today is Monday. Sadly, tomorrow I close, so I won't make it.

If you decide on another day please let me know! I'd like some SIG back in my life!

Charm of Life isn't a great spell but Victor wouldn't have any trouble keeping that one coming regularly. Casting cost is quite cheap.

Persevere also looks tasty but has a pretty high Spirit cost and since Victor lacks any training Mentalist, that would eat up even more Spirit SP.

Of course, if trading or selling either of these could lead to getting better spells for sure, Victor would be fine with that.

Is Mentalist something that would be worth seeking training in? I was thinking a little Necromancy would be in order and Victor learning to shriv would be for the best.

Has anyone in this group played a GuildSchool healler before? Can anyone offer me any suggestions?

crossposted your post, BTW.
Getting some answers if possible.

very deep, long-reaching question, actually...no matter how innocent the question

and we are on tonight....but Weave, I was not aware that Tuesdays were now bad.  And we have not had Valtonian lately either.

Hmm.  Poll time.

Well, Tuesdays are only bad as of the winter break, when my work decides to put me back on the schedule more often.

A few responses have tricked in already...
One player played a Shriving healer, A healer with spirit, life, restorative, order and necromancy.  He was from the church of Orcus Guardian of the Way, and played a stron, life-based healer and believer in the proper cycle.  He used a lot of life and order based buffs, joined in as a second rank fighter, but always ended up leaving combat to play combat medic.  He also was very strong necromantic caster, and would go into combat with Bone Catch and Earth's Dark dagger when he had to..he scared the shit out of people when that happened.

Just wanted to jump in real quick to say that Mentalist is probably one of the more useful SP skills to grab. Another good one is Artificer. Necro can be useful but it is trickier and a little bit more limited on what you can do with it.

limetom

Oh lulz. I got invited out to trivia night this week, and next week I'll be flying again.

It seems fate conspires against me ever playing Steel Isle (until the week after next).

Dude, flying I understand.

But Trivia night?  Maybe I am misunderstanding something...
