''' What is the Campaign Builder's Guild? '''

Since our beginning on the Wizards of the Coast "Homebrew" forum in the early 2000s, the Campaign Builder's Guild (CBG) has been a home for people to focus on the worldbuilding aspect of table-top roleplaying games, science fiction and fantasy writing, art, and other related media. The core objective of the Guild and its members is to offer a free and friendly community where anyone can take part in the discussion, review, and creation of these worlds, as well as fostering thought-experiments and constructive criticism of setting ideas and the consequences they have for the works that rely on them. While fantasy and science fiction have both been flooded over the years with numerous settings of various themes and stages of development, we know that there's always another exciting new idea out there to explore. And even if you're interested in something that's published and/or largely available to enjoy already, we're happy to find ways to put our own personal touches on them.

The above process will provide you with a page that should be more than enough for basic setting concepts and idea storage. If you want to create multiple setting-specific pages, the best practice is to visit new pages with the URL format "https://thecbg.org/wiki/<Topic_Name>_(<Your_Setting_Name>)" (for example, "https://thecbg.org/wiki/Races_(Fractal_Galaxy)"). This is so that as we improve the site with better search features, multiple pages covering the same topic but for different settings (e.g. Magic) can have proper disambiguation.

What is the Campaign Builder's Guild?

With all that said, we hope that we'll see you soon. Find us on Discord or join in the discussions on one of our setting pages listed below.

Setting List

[Setting|The Generic Setting] - A plain-old kitchen sink fantasy setting sandbox for testing out the site and collaborative hijinks

How to Create a Setting Page

If the name is not already in use, there will be a link with text "create this page". Click that link, and begin entering any info you want to add, making sure to save your changes (otherwise the page will revert to blank mode).
